May Crochet Challenge – Review

This month I decided to do a crochet challenge. Everyday something new. An instagram post and a blog post to go with it.

I’m going to be honest this was a struggle!
More honesty, I was actually able to do a few challenges in 1 day, meaning that I could schedule posts and marry up the Instagram posts.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m so glad I did this challenge. I have learnt so much. I have learnt new stitches, one of which I’m using for a new project!
If we are being very honest, I thought that doing this would help me with my follower count. The thing is sometimes I don’t care about follower count but sometimes I really do. I thought that by posting everyday I could get more followers on Instagram and more subscribers here.

But to be clear it didn’t help haha. And that’s ok, this challenge was about me, pushing myself to try new things. I am so glad it’s over though ahah. I can now go back to posting a 3-5 times per week on Instagram and maybe once per week here.

So you’ve all seen what I’ve been working on up until this point, but what I’ve been working on in the background, with only a couple of posts about each, are the following:

A summer top using one of the stitches I learnt during this challenge:

This is using a modified version of the Yarn Over stitch and instead of using a Simple Stitch I’m using a Knit Stitch.

A winter top using two yarns I have had for a couple of months:

The back panel is finished….

And I have started the front panel. I think I’ve decided on a small V neck for the neckline but I’m not 100% sure yet, but I have time to decide.

I have also decided on some projects for Christmas presents, which I am excited to start.

I’ve also written a pattern for my Sweater Vest. Which I haven’t posted about yet but I am super excited to show off on here and Instagram. If you want to have a look check out my Instagram next week for the release.

I didn’t find folk came across from Instagram to subscribe, and I uninstalled it in the end. Too easy to waste time on it!

Your projects all look great 😊
