Ok I know this is a random blog post, and those who know me know that I’m not the best at colour matching or choosing colours that will go together.
But basically want I wanted to get from this post was to be able to go through my process and hear feedback from what other people do. This is definitely a subject that I need to work on and improve on.
I’m hopeful that in a few months I can come back and update you all with a new blog post about how I’ve improved on my colour coordination.
So to begin with let’s look at what I like, and at the risk of sounding very obvious, all the yarns I have I love the colours of, but what works well together?
The first example I want to show is these three colours from Hobbii:

I picked these colours to go together because I love the pop of the yellow and blue against the grey. In my opinion I think they compliment each other really nicely. The big question is what do I make with them? I’m thinking of making a Tunisian Crochet jumper of some sorts with it, but what design and what stictch is yet to be decided.
The next three are all from Red Squirrel & Dune:

These three are an almost fade and I think they are stunning. The first one is a light beige, the second is an off beige with hints of purple and green and then there is the purple. They are pastel and perfect for Spring time. I like these three together because they are almost a fade and I think they would look great made up into a vest or a top.
So here we have Illimani Yarn that I was able to pick up from a beautifull yarn shop called Knit With Me.

These colours are wildly different and both the red and the blue are quite bright but with the brown I feel like that tones down the brightness a bit and brings the two together.
I don’t know but these colours together make me think of Christmas. I have absolutely zero clue what to make with these so if you have any ideas please feel free to leave them below!
And here is the last colour match that I’m showing off today:

These three are by two different Indy Dyers Zakami and Hedgehog Fibres, and as can be seen they are different but similar, I think these three together would make something quite fun together. I love that each of these three have different colours woven through them, even though they are different I feel like because all three have the different colours in them they will go together nicely.
If anyone has any idea of what can be made out of these yarns, leave a comment below.
